The Japanese Matsuri is in Chatswood
The Matsuri-Japan Festival in Willoughby 2017 celebrates Japanese culture and cross-cultural friendship with Sydney. This is a fun celebration that will showcase Japanese culture through Japanese food stalls, various stage performances and traditional arts and crafts workshops. It is one of Chatswood's biggest Japanese events.

This festival is a feast for all the senses - it will give everyone the chance to enjoy the delicious taste of Japanese street food and you will get to enjoy traditional Japanese music and modern dances.

There will also be a variety of performances, ranging from traditional taiko drumming to anime singing and dancing. Some of the highlighted performances are Rindo Taiko, Calligraphy Demonstration, Junko Hirabayashi, Fra Aloha, Yumeyuki, Makoto Tanaka, Kariyushi Kai, Yuki Hime, Yozora Band and Sydney Soran Odori-tai. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Japanese cultural activities.

Come and try some of Japanese festival must-haves street food: Takoyaki or Yakisoba, and participate in the interactive workshops such as Calligraphy (shūji), Origami, Tea Ceremony (ocha) and Flower arrangement (ikebana).

It is largest Japanese cultural festival in Northern Sydney. It is a free event for everyone who loves Japan or wants to know more about Japanese culture and heritage.

This event is part of Emerge Festival 2017.
