Stepping off Masters Street and through the iron gates into a garden oasis, I knew this restaurant was something special. It felt like a world away from the hustle and bustle of Newstead.
is a newly opened cocktail garden and restaurant inspired by the nineteenth-century Parisian countryside. With a garden patio and the indoor atrium, there are plenty of areas to soak up the ambience. The garden patio is delightful with its 25 year old olive trees and chandeliers.
The interior feels like a garden wonderland with its marble table tops, kerosene lanterns, fresh flowers and trees.
Bold and colourful, the furnishings create a wonderful sanctuary.
Chef, Matthew De Wacht has created a decadent menu which is divided into The Duchess, The Princess and The Queen options. Visiting for lunch, we opted for The Princess range.
The $18 trio of sliders were tasty. A range of fillings was available including Halloumi, Mushroom and Pulled Pork.
The smoked chicken Caesar Salad for $16 was the pick though with its perfectly cooked poached egg and delicious bacon and chicken.
The Duchess menu items are ideal to be shared. Options include Lobster Rolls for $20, Spicy Chicken Skewers for $16 and Heirloom Vegetable Platter for $16.
For a more filling feed, opt for The Queen menu where the range includes Bangers and Mashed Potato for $19, Porterhouse Steak for $28 and Fisherman Basket for $35.
Children are also catered for with chicken nuggets, pizza, mini cheeseburger and spaghetti bolognese available for $12 each.
High Tea is also available and tea ladies roam the room with a sweets cart, with cakes baked fresh daily.
If you have time, settle in for a drink with 's extensive cocktail list.
is a delightful experience. Indulge your senses today and enjoy its old fashioned charm.
