Matariki is the M&
#257 ;ori name for the seven-star constellation that rises in the north-east before dawn in June. In Western astronomy, it is known as the Pleiades, and it forms the shoulder of Taurus the Bull.

#257 ;ori New Year in Wellington with a spectacular display of fireworks over the Wellington Harbour. The fireworks will start at 6.30pm.
The city and waterfront will be very busy so use public transport/walk to get around and arrive early to secure your viewing spot!
