Despite its unassuming appearance, on Days Rd in Croydon Park is a great place to enjoy Asian cuisine. It is located around the corner from 127 Days , one of our favourite burger joints. In addition to the dishes on their menu, they also have several dishes written in Chinese on a board behind the counter where you place your order.

One of the dishes that is written in Chinese, their Fragrant Mix Pot consists of a combination of slices of beef, luncheon meat, fish balls, black fungus and various vegetables cooked in a spicy sauce. All of the ingredients were cooked just right with the spicy sauce giving the dish a moreish, spicy flavour with a slight tongue numbing sensation. This dish was served on a warming mini wok, which kept the ingredients warm for the duration of our meal; a great dish for a cold winter night. The serving size of the dish is generous enough that it can easily be shared with fellow diners.

For those who prefer seafood, they also have a Fragrant Seafood Pot version which replaces the beef and luncheon meat with squid, fish and potatoes. The fish and squid were cooked to perfection with a spicy flavour that is not as strong as their Fragrant Mix Pot. The portion size of this dish was as generous as their Fragrant Mix Pot.

A good choice for those who do not enjoy spicy food, their Salt & Pepper Eggplant had juicy pieces of eggplant encased in a golden brown batter and tossed in a salt & pepper mixture that lifted their flavour. We thought the onions cooked with the eggplant tasted a bit raw however. If you prefer, the dish can be prepared with squid or tofu instead.

A popular dish originating from the Sichuan province in China, Mapo Tofu is a dish consisting of minced pork and tofu cooked in a sauce usually made from chilli bean paste, fermented black beans, chilli oil and Sichuan Peppercorns. The tofu was soft which was partnered well by the minced pork with the sauce giving the dish its distinct tongue numbing taste. It also had black beans of a generous size to add a salty hit to the dish. This is a dish that makes you want to keep going back for another mouthful and tasted really nice accompanied by steamed rice.

also offers a decent of range of dumplings which can either be ordered fried or boiled. We tried their fried Pork Dumplings and their steamed Chicken & Prawn Dumplings. Both types of dumplings were juicy with the Pork Dumplings having a stronger savoury flavour. Soy sauce and chilli sauce were provided at the table as dipping sauces for the dumplings.

Ambience of the restaurant is somewhat similar to a small café with a decent amount of seating space. Plenty of off-street parking is available in the car park located near the restaurant. We have started visiting the shopping centre where this restaurant is located pretty frequently because it also has 127 Days (a burger joint), 4u Bread n Cakes (an Asian bakery), a huge Asian grocery shop, a shop that sells Chinese BBQ pork, roast pork and roast duck and Yen Linh (a Vietnamese restaurant).
