Seems the best of both worlds. Women helping women while helping themselves to some great vintage clothes. Last year a group of women calling themselves the MJs, held their first vintage clothes fund-raiser at the Malvern Town Hall and raised $40,000 for charity.
This year they are doing it again but this is a totally Massive Vintage Clothes Sale. They have a motto: "Put the fun back into fundraising". So as well as great clothes there will be coffee, cupcakes, and bubbles to keep you going.
You will be in the midst of 2000 pieces including Burberry, Prada, Kenzo, True Religion and more. There are also shoes and accessories – some brand new. There are even clothes for kids and men including loads of top quality suits. Great prices and some real finds.
They ask just one thing in return and that is a gold coin donation. And its a great cause. All proceeds do to McAuley Care - which is a refuge for women and children escaping family violence.
Oh and one other thing. They are also asking if you can donate any new toiletries which will also go to McAuley Care. So have a look in your bathroom before you leave home.
Perhaps you have some nice soaps or shampoos you never got round to opening. Or even stop at the chemist on your way. Because someone has been through hell and your gift will mean much in a time of great crisis.
