Offering all the usual treatments viz. Pedicures, Mini, Deep & Deluxe Facials, Manicures (French, Buff & Polish, and Deluxe), Waxing, Wedding and Formal Makeup, Ear Candling, Lynn is also an accredited Bowen Therapist and has accomplished many successful treatments for her clients. Bowen Therapy was developed by an Australian, Tom Bowen (1916-1982) and involves gentle rolling motions along the muscles, tendons and fascia. For a half to one hour Bowen Therapy will cost $45.00.
What sets Lynn's beauty practice apart from the others is that she uses the methods of extractions in her facials and blade work in the pedicures.
Most salon therapists will scrub your heels; however blade work uses a small blade and is excellent for those with cracked or dry heels because it removes much more dead skin. It also leaves your heels feeling fresh and smooth. It doesn't hurt, although regular pedicures are always encouraged to maintain healthy and hygienic feet.

To explain what an extraction in a facial entrails; it is the removal of what is called "white heads" which are deeply buried within the skin layers and appears as white lumps on a person's facial skin. The extraction process is performed by nipping the head with a sterilised needle and gently popping the bacteria from the skin.
I asked Lynn why our skin produces these annoying white lumps when we wash and/or cleanse our skin daily. She advised that once our skin has been moisturised and makeup applied we should not touch our face with our hands again as any moisture or bacteria we may have on our hands gets transferred onto our face. As I didn't think I touched my face much during a day, I was surprised once I stopped and noticed that I did indeed touch my face more than I thought, if only to push hair back. Other reasons for white heads in the skin could be your locality, the climate, food that we consume, over cleaning of the face or just basic hygiene.
I love booking in for a mini facial which takes around 45 minutes and is complete when you receive a lovely neck and shoulder massage. Many a time when I lie on the bed and pads are placed over my eyes to quieten my space and the playing of faint relaxing music can be heard in the background, I find I fall asleep only to wake up when the massage has begun. Other facials are up to an hour in length and include eye brow waxing in the cost. Facials start at $44.00 for a Mini.
Lynn keeps up to date with the latest technologies and during my recent facial Lynn used a small ultrasonic machine on my face, which uses high level sound wave technology to penetrate deep below the surface of the skin promoting cellular renewal and repair, toning muscles and increasing blood flow. It certainly did feel nice. These machines can easily be used at home and on other parts of the body as well and can be purchased through Body and Beauty Secrets at a cost of $79.99.
Body & Beauty Secrets uses and sells Ahava Skincare products, which are a perfectly balanced concentrate of Dead Sea minerals that provide a balance to replenish, rehydrate and recharge your skin.
