Nestled amidst the bustling Ultimo region is the Mary Ann Street Park. It offers a stark contrast between the industrial environment that surrounds it. Manicured lawns and native plants give it almost oasis-like qualities, which provide respite from the encompassing cityscape.
The luscious greenery draws in weary businessmen and students from the area, along with some of the local residents who seek hiatus from the draining nature of the city. A number of park benches and shady structures provide handy rest-stop areas for walkers or those who find themselves exploring the city surrounds. Barbeque facilities offer a handy location for any meal preparation or a family outing.
For anyone who spends time in the Ultimo area and feels the need for a temporary escape - I strongly recommend paying a visit to the Mary Ann Street Park.
