Martin Place Bar

Home > Sydney > Bars
Published January 7th 2011
You will find the well-heeled, pin-striped after work crowd at Martin Place Bar for a post-work booze up, located opposite the Martin Place Station on Elizabeth Street.

Its bistro has a culinary reputation and currently holds the title of National Winner for the Best Bistro/Pub Food for two consecutive years running in 2009 and 2010. The good thing about the bar is that they have the option of Lunch Within the Hour - a pre-order lunch form, which allows the busy executive to skip the long queue.

Monday night $3 schooners could lead to plenty of regrets on Tuesday mornings so think twice before going with your colleagues. The ladies will love the 2 for 1 cocktails all day Tuesday and $5 Bellinis on Thursdays.

The bar area itself has an air of casual-chic but beware if you are going after work. Martin Place Bar is very popular with the CBD crowd and things can get choc-a-bloc by 7pm. The bar fills up and patrons slowly filter into the back alleys. Despite the overcrowding, the mood is good and the taps flow freely.
