Photography obsessed writer and urban explorer. Lover of nature, art and long weekends. Adelaide, South Australia.
Held once a year is the Marrabel Rodeo. Marrabel is just over an hours drive from Elizabeth in Adelaide's northern suburbs and is halfway between the Clare Valley and the Barossa Valley, in the mid north of South Australia.
Marrabel has hosted the rodeo and bull riding events since 1935 and is ranked in the Top 10 rodeos in Australia. People come for the whole weekend - the rodeo attracts people from all over the country.
There are food and drink stalls, amusement rides, art and craft stalls as well as live music and the rodeo main entertainment in the arena. Those who have been before come well prepared with a chair. The chair is placed ringside to 'reserve' their spot. They are then free to move around and catch up with their mates and to enjoy all of the entertainment that's on offer.
