Impromptu adventuring, exploring our backyard and then putting pen to paper, hoping to entice you to try one, if not all, of our escapades, is my true reward!

On The Esplanade between Cotton Tree and Mooloolaba we have the Maroochydore Rotary Park, a picturesque riverside park - child heaven! Granny and Grandpa day it was, and though Mother Nature wasn't in top form, she did hold back the waterworks just long enough to give us time to stroll through this beautifully maintained park.

Stunning views and access to the river, this is an ample park with lawned open areas, shaded by trees. There is so much for the littlies to do and see, with two playgrounds and an array of play equipment ideal for children of all ages. In the biggest playground there are swings, slides, a bouncy seesaw and rockers and plenty of sand for those little 'diggers'. Older children can fulfil their 'monkey' side with the climbing structure, practice their gymnastics on the monkey bars or get giddy on the spinning stick.

Separated by a path and trees, is the newer boat-themed playground with a boathouse-style structure and slide as well as an awesome wooden boat for the children to play 'Pirates Ahoy'. Plenty of large rocks are perfect for all those balancing tricks.

Easy access to the river and not a wave in sight unless a jetski happens to pass by, is an idyllically safe haven for the children to paddle and play, a prime safe-spot to teach them to swim. Why not take fishing rods for the bigger children - great fishing area to throw a line in.

A truly magical locale to let little imaginations run wild - sailing the high seas in the wooden boat, using the climbing structure to look out for incoming pirates; or clambering over the rocks along the dry riverbed on the look out for crocodiles!

An extremely popular area on weekends for families to get together for an outdoor picnic with sheltered picnic tables, electric barbecues and of course, the play area, ensuring every member of the family is happy - a perfect location for those special celebrations, birthdays and family get-togethers.
