Save time and your sanity

"Mum can we have something different for dinner "

These words were uttered by my teenage son after yet another taco dinner.

Running my own business and being a single parent, I find getting creative for dinner doesn't happen very often and I tend to recycle recipes which I know well and can cook quickly and easily. Finding recipes, planning new meals and shopping for new ingredients can take a lot of time time I don't often have.

But after seeing Marley Spoon ads several times, I finally got a chance to test them out. It took me only a few minutes to choose the meals and order the ingredients. I specified the day and time when they were to be delivered and I was done.

My Marley Spoon package arrived as ordered and I even received a text message confirming the delivery.

Master 16 seemed quite excited about the prospect of having something he had seen on TV. The great thing about the recipes is that they come with easy to follow recipe cards and there is no measuring or weighing required. You get exactly what you need for each recipe.

Even though I only cook for the two of us, I had ordered 4 portions, so that we had enough for the next day, saving me even more time in the kitchen.

The first night I tried Hearty Beef Stew recipe.

It was simple to make, healthy and the ingredients were very fresh.

Our next meal was Asian Caramel Chicken

Just as simple as the first meal, this recipe required a few pantry items, such as sugar and soy sauce, but again it was delicious. And junior was very impressed so much so, that he even ate the vegetables.

And best of all, both meals ended up looking like the picture on the cards.

The great thing about Marley Spoon is that you can order as many or as few meals as you wish for the week ahead. If you are going to be out some evenings, then order less meals. The order process is simple and recipes are changed every week, so you never get bored.

You can easily order via the Marley Spoon app available from the App Store or Google Play.

When you sign up, each week you receive an email with meal choices based on your taste preferences you can swap recipes or update your taste preferences at any time. If you are going to be away, you can pause your subscription.

Marley Spoon currently delivers to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Wollongong, Newcastle and NSW's Central Coast, with more coming soon.

Meals are very affordable approximately $9.50 per serving for a 4 Person Box, ordering 3 meals and $11.65 per serving for a 2 Person Box ordering 3 meals.
