Coffee, cake, jam, pre-loved books and a plant and I’m happy
Is it a bit of a worry that I'm so excited that the Markets on the Lawn recommence in the grounds of the local church in coming days? Just in time for the warmer mornings Cleveland Uniting Church at 36 Passage Street, Cleveland, will be holding their Markets on the Lawn on Saturday, 10th of October.
It's been a long time between markets and I'm in dire need of some new reading material. What about you? I've always had success finding preloved books of interest during previous visits.
With spring in full swing some new plants for the back garden will pique my interest and what is a Saturday morning all about if you are unable to purchase a freshly baked cake, or even scones, to take home for morning tea?
There will be stalls with jewellery and accessories, kitchenware, craft items, new and recycled clothing and bric-a-brac for sale. You might even make a start on your Christmas shopping!
A coffee van will be onsite if you need a "heart starter" or simply a break from all your shopping. The Cleveland Uniting Church Men's Shed will also be in attendance and will have excess tools for sale as well as projects they've been working on.
Entry to this event is FREE with gates open at 7am closing at noon. These aren't large markets though they are a market day with a lot of heart and community spirit. I'll be there for sure.
A COVID plan to keep visitors and volunteers safe includes self distancing and sanitising.
