Tempting treats at Market Square
If you're anything like Aunty Joy, you pine to be on holiday somewhere exotic far more frequently than the budget will allow. It's at times like these a trip to somewhere like Market Square at Sunnybank fits the bill, for a taste of Asia without leaving home.
Diagonally opposite the bigger Sunnybank Plaza shopping centre, Market Square is worth exploring because it doesn't have a big "shopping mall" feel. Tucked away behind the frontage shops is a square of many restaurants and cafes, plus bakeries, butchers and other businesses with a real atmosphere of Asia.

Hard-to-resist Chinese bbq meats
The High Fresh supermarket at the back of the complex (in Lewina Street) has an amazing range of Taiwanese and other Asian groceries in a bright, clean shop. Upstairs is the Little Taipei Food Court, where you'll really feel like you're in your favourite Asian city. It's a smallish food court but with flavours from around Asia available at the various stalls. Access is via the stairs next to the back entrance of the supermarket (pictured) or from the elevator inside the supermarket. Be aware that the opening time is allegedly 11am, but when we went there at that time only three stalls were open.

This way to Asia
The other supermarket in the complex is Yuen's, which has a terrific fresh fish department, selling mostly whole fish, but also some pre-packed fillets.

Colourful fruits and vegetables
Complete your shopping with some fresh Asian vegetables and delicious buns (there's a Pappa Roti shop and a nice Asian bakery), and you can head home with a round Buddha belly and some delicious souvenirs.
