Event:
Quite possibly the best day of the school holidays
It's the last day of the school holidays and you need something pretty special to take the kids' minds off the fact they will be returning to school the next day (yay).

You're going to need to pull out the big guns.

Some of the gorgeous items available at the markets

How about an extensive market with over 50 stalls all with goodies under $30 (for you) and zorbs, bungy trampolines, a motor sports race track and bucking bull (for them).

Not enough? How about a Winter Wonderland tent with real snow. Where they can build a real snowman and throw a few (real) snowballs. Nicely, of course.

Hmm, we need to get the kids back into the 'learning' frame of mind: how about a Scitech Zone?

And don't forget the petting zoo and marine touch pool. The kids will be having so much fun they won't even realise they're learning!

The ECU Open Day is not just for future university students but the whole family. Held across five hours on the grassed courtyard on the corner of Grand Boulevard and Kendrew Crescent, there will live music, food trucks and plenty of entertainment to keep everyone happy.

There will be something for everyone

The markets stalls will feature an eclectic mix of children's and adult fashion, beauty products, jewellery and unusual and quirky giftware, craft and toys.

And just in case you're actually a student and would like to find out more about going to ECU there will be demos, talks and the opportunity to meet lecturers and other students.

There will be a special post-grad lounge to learn more about higher degrees and a huge range of prizes and giveaways during the day.

There will be plenty of free parking, and ECU is only a few minutes from the freeway.

In short, a fantastic way to finish the school holidays.
