Book launch with frills: writers, sketch artist & live music

Marion Writers Inc. invite fellow writers and book lovers to a unique cultural event as they celebrate the launch of their second anthology, Unreal strange and quirky tales; a collection of short stories and poetry that explore the world of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, humour and adventure as each author poses the question - what if?

This imaginative anthology will be launched by special guest, Sue Fleming, Writer and Creative Director of Wunderkammer Gallery Gifts. Sue started the Marion Writers Inc. and has played a special role in conducting workshops, which have benefited many writers.

Joining in the celebration is Fran Callen , a renowned community artist and emerging writer, who teaches drawing and painting at the South Australian School of Art. Fran conducts workshops, Sketchyclass for beginners and accomplished artists at the blue-bird-coffee-lounge. She is excited to be part of this creative collaboration, "I will be doing some live sketching during the launch capturing the atmosphere and adding to the combination of writing/music/art as we all inspire each other. You never know you may wish to follow your own desire to develop your own writing, drawing or musical skills.

This event is a feast of creativity, imagination and collaboration across the Arts. Come along if originality and artistic vision inspires you, if you enjoy reading new books, meeting authors, book lovers, artists and musicians. Join the conversations while tasting fine wine and listening to cool jazz, blues and 50's live music by Surfer Rosa. Refreshments are provided.

The venue for the book launch is Adelaide's oldest family owned winery and cellar door, Patritti Wines at 13 -23 Clacton Road, Dover Gardens SA.

Patritti Wines have generously made their premises available along with a selection of their wines available for tasting. If you have yet to visit G. Patritti & Co Pty. Ltd (Patritti Wines) then you are in for a special treat as it has been described as one of Adelaide's best kept secrets. Hidden away in a housing estate in Dover Gardens, only 3 - 4 minutes from Westfield Marion. Surrounded by suburban homes and a park on one side, it operates a production facility, packaging line and cellar door on the original site where it was established in 1926. This incredible cellar door is renowned for its James Halliday five star rated wines, de-alcoholised wines and premium non-alcoholic sparkling grape and fruit Juices in the heart of metropolitan Adelaide at cellar door prices, is just like you would find in McLaren Vale or the Barossa districts.

Off street parking is available for attendees in the south parking area (turn right inside the gate). The parking area at the front of the building is designated for cellar door customers.
