If you are a writer or an aspiring writer and you are seeking the company of fellow writers to learn how to improve your writing skills and techniques so your words spring to life, Marion Scribes could well be the writers' group for you.
For budding short-story writers and novelists, Marion Scribes offers the opportunities for you to learn how to create more realistic and gripping characters with engaging dialogue and exciting plots that will hook your readers.
Members of Marion Scribes submit a piece of writing (Maximum of 1,500 words) each month by email. At the meetings, members provide one another positive and constructive feedback usually with a written critique. You will learn basic self-editing techniques and how to redraft your work to ensure your writing continues to improve.
The aims of Marion Scribes is to provide a safe haven where you can meet other people like yourself, a kindred spirit. They have a passion to write and will support you in your endeavours to complete the story that you want to tell.
Marion Scribes meets at the Marion Cultural Centre Library,
287 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park on every second Sunday of the month from 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm, except in January. The meetings are relaxed, friendly social occasions, with the goal of motivating one another through the entire writing process.
