, an Australian exclusive exhibition is currently on display at Bendigo Art Gallery
until 11 June, 2018.
The Finnish fashion label Marimekko
was founded in 1951 by Viljo and Armi Ratia. Marimekko
, or 'Mary dress' are known for their brightly coloured printed fabrics and simple styles, used both in women's garments and in home furnishings. The fashion label achieved international fame when Jacqueline Kennedy wore several designs during the 1960 United States presidential campaign.
Developed by Helsinki's renowned Design Museum, the exhibition features more than 60 outfits, swathes of original fabrics, homewares, sketches and other archival materials, and focuses on the work from this internationally recognisable design icon.

Throughout the exhibition some of the events include curator talks, a High Tea, Screen Printing workshops, Auslan Tour and a Swinging 60s Party.
