In the nine years since the began, it has grown from very humble beginnings to boast over 50 exceptional stallholders. A true artisan market, there is a distinct emphasis on quality and diverse handmade wares, making it ideal for those who simply love art & craft products for the home or perhaps that extra special gift.
Including both local and regional Victorian artists, stallholders showcase anything and everything you can think of created predominantly from wool, felt and sewn craft fabrics to concrete, resin and illustration materials.
The market is sprawled over both an indoor and outdoor space and includes fashionable accessories such as polymer clay jewellery by Colourwork, mini gardens just for fun by Panda Bearium Terrariums, bespoke ceramics from Blackseed Ceramics and Clay By Caroline. There's kid's clothing from Orcwood and Lil Pip Designs and décor pieces courtesy of Sir Trouble Handmade and Pictures and Patches who are happy to add a splash of colour to your bedroom.
The market also sells a range of food items with nougats and meringues from Eat Sweet Indulgence, ciders from Flair Ferments and a sausage sizzle provided by the local Rotary.
The Makers Markets are always open to new stallholder applications. Apply via the
website. Criteria require that all items be handmade to the highest standard and are diverse in representation. There is preference for unique and creative products and organisers require a photograph with your application.
The next is being held on Saturday 10th September from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the Seddon Uniting Church, Gamon Street, Seddon. Entry to the market is free.
Future market dates include Saturday 19th November and Thursday 15th December 2016.
