The Maribyrnong Makers Market will be back in 2016 with a whole range of inspiring wares on 19th March. With a reputation for uncovering some of the best handmade goodies in West Melbourne, the market has been a fantastic platform for local artists and crafts people to promote their unique products since its beginning in 2008.
More than 50 stallholders will be present, offering everything from candles to eco-friendly cushions. Check out the work of Yarraville illustrator and designer Daniella Lo Presti, the creative force behind By Me For Dee. With a background in graphic design and a passion for illustration, Daniella left the world of advertising to start her own company. Daniella now creates unique, hand-painted gift cards and prints featuring a range of bright and quirky characters.
Kennedy Smith Candles continues to be a regular favourite at the market. These handmade soy candles, created by Adrian Kennedy, are full of strong masculine tones that set them apart from traditional candles. Adrian is a passionate traveler whose adventures have helped inspire his distinctive products, from the exotic tropical Black Orchid to modern and fresh Lime Blossom candles.
You'll even find something for the newborns, with Mr. Moo Designs. Their range of bibs, clothing and toys will keep the little ones happy and looking good. Merry Go Handmade will also be offering a great range of aprons, baby blankets and bunting.
Other unique stallholders include Twice Drunk, creators of sleek, upcycled lamps, eco-friendly cushions by Rushi and men's accessories by Gris Metal, that includes wallets, satchels and necklaces. You'll even be able to buy beautiful wrapping paper and gift cards from WRAP, or create a customised paper art frame for someone special at Inspired by Paper.
So if you're looking to check out what the creative folk of Melbourne have been up to, or hoping to pick up some special gifts before Easter, don't miss out on the Maribynong Makers Market. The market will also be operating throughout the year, so if you can't make it in March, be sure to head down on any of the other dates.
