Perhaps most importantly, though, it's excellent value for money. At most cinemas in Cairns an adult ticket is $19 and children's ticket is $14.50. At the Drive In you can see two movies for an adult price of $14, and $8 for kids. That with the added atmosphere of sitting under the stars, particularly effective if the characters you're watching are also looking up into the stars.
In addition to the movie there's a cafe with quite an extensive menu. The meals are substantial, quite tasty, and affordable, with burger prices starting at $7. All in all, it's a memorable movie experience.
