Colourful Macarons
As anyone who, like me, has munched on macarons all over this fair nation can tell you, not all macarons are created equally. Some are strangely flavourless, they're stingy with the filling or the texture just isn't quite right. The macarons at
Marché Du Macaron are like a masterclass in how to do it right.

Delightful Decor
As bright and beautiful as they are flavoursome, these decadent French treats are the work of the newly opened Marché Du Macaron store owner and proprietor Trish Hollamby. Every aspect of the macarons in this sophisticated store, from the filling to the crunch of the shells is sheer perfection.

Perfect Packaging
It's hard to believe Trish pipes every shell by hand, since they're so perfectly formed, but as her son Luke, who convinced her to open the store says, "Mum's been an amazing baker for years".

Gluten Free Treats
Trish used to sell her wares online only, catering mostly to events like bridal and baby showers, weddings, birthdays and corporate functions. Now her strictly gluten free treats have caused quite the stir in Gordon Park, where on Sunday 22nd of March, the Marché first opened its doors.

Tiers of Delicacies
While the macarons are the star of the show, you'll also be impressed by the store's interior that oozes class from every corner. The predominantly monochromatic colour scheme: charcoal walls, dashes of white, and industrial metal finishes are truly chic.

More Pretty Packaging
"We wanted the macarons to be the only colour in the place," Luke explained to me, "Even the take home boxes are lined with black tissue paper so when you open them the colour just pops".

Flower Power
The array flavours on offer at the time of writing this article were: Choc Mint, Raspberry, Kiwi Fruit, Lavender and Chocolate, Chocolate, Liquorice and Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Choc Orange, Orange, Choc Raspberry, Orange and Passionfruit, and Strawberry. Don't worry if your favourite flavour isn't on the list, as Trish innovates and changes, and often introduces seasonally appropriate flavour combinations too.

Gorgeous Macaron Tower

Another Beautiful Tower
The team at Marché Du Macaron clearly aren't just amazing bakers, they're artistically talented too. On the official opening night, we were treated to macarons in the shape of pretty flowers that would make a whimsical addition to your party's décor. There were gorgeous macaron towers on display that would make the most amazing dessert for a wedding or event. There was even a macaron tree from which guests were invited to snip their own delicacies.
