ArtPlay is a fantastic place where families and children can be creative and imaginative in an open and supportive environment. Here, participants learn the language of art by participating in artistic, interactive and creative projects and activities. This is a fabulous educational opportunity for children.
There are lots of wonderful events during March at ArtPlay. With various workshops catered towards families and children up to the age of 13, there is definitely something here for every child. Check out their full calendar of events

There are heaps of events suitable for families during March at ArtPlay.
Everyone is invited to
#birthday ">
ArtPlay's massive 10th birthday bash on Sunday 2 March. Set your eyes on the remarkable new artwork attached to the ArtPlay building; enjoy fabulous free entertainment throughout the day; get your free delicious cupcake; and check out performances by the awesome MSO ArtPlay Ensemble Graduates and Pocketfool Productions. While you're there, don't forget to get your photo snapped with the Lord Mayer at 11am.
Feel free to bring your own picnic. Otherwise the kiosk will be open for food and drinks.

Triangulate is fabulous for the creative cats. Make, build and create with the triangle shape and see what you can come up with. Let your imagination run wild and experiment with three sides using various materials such as recycled cardboard, toothpicks, dowels, paper and sticky tape. All materials will be provided so just bring yourself and be prepared to draw, collage, decorate, bind and tie.
When: 8 March, Sunday 9 March and Monday 10 March, noon to 4pm

Bring your babies for

Massive for Babies for a session of a mass singing event with vocalist and musician Andrea Khoza as well as young up-and-coming artists from MASSIVE. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn some great new songs to sing to your babies as you'll be taught easy refrains and rhythms covering various music styles such as gospel, rhythm and blues, and world music.
When: Wednesday 5 March, 11am to 11.45am; 12.15pm to 1pm

[SECTION]Walkers Under 2[/SECTION]
Ready for a lively, frivolous, exciting journey? Join actor Heidi Weatherald from Pocketfool Productions at

Fall Down for a session of imaginative play full of twirls and whirls as well as dances and songs.
When: Friday 21 March and Thursday 27 March, 10.30am to 11.15am; 11.45am to 12.30pm

It's boxes extravaganza at

Boxes , an installation for walking babies up to two years of age. There will be all sorts of boxes imaginable for you to crawl through, hide in, stack, sit in, you name it. Everyone will have a ball.
When: Friday 28 February and Sunday 16 March, 10.30am to 11.30am; noon to 1pm

[SECTION]Ages 2 - 8[/SECTION]
Make your very own puppet at

Paper Creatures Puppetry using newspaper. Discover the art of Bunraku-style puppetry which is a form of traditional Japanese puppetry founded in Osaka in 1684. Then work with others to learn to operate one puppet together.
When:
Age 2 - 3 years: Wednesday 12 February, Thursday 27 February and Friday 14 March, 10.30am to 11.30am
Age 4 - 5 years: Wednesday 12 February, Thursday 27 February and Friday 14 March, noon to 1pm

Beautiful Beetles , children between the ages of five and eight learn to make their own beetle using clay. Be super creative and decorate your beetle in all sorts of colours and patterns in addition to learning easy methods of press moulds and pattern-making. All materials will be provided, but make sure you bring a box with you to take your new beetle home.
When: Saturday 15 March and Sunday 16 March, 2.30pm to 4pm

[SECTION]Ages 9 - 12 [/SECTION]
Minna Gilligan, a Melbourne based artist and long-time blogger will be leading
#dreams ">
Dreams Come True which involves children in a discussion of thoughts, inspirations and ambition. These ideas will be transferred into collaged Vision Boards allowing the children to see and understand their dreams and make those dreams actually happen.
