For over 17 days and in 14 venues,
Mapping Melbourne will come alive with a series of intercultural, multi-art form events which will take place smack-bang in the heart of Melbourne.
Now in it's fifth year, this festival comprises both emerging and established performance, visual and musical artists, who gather to
share and celebrate our unique Asian Australian identity and highlight positive global creative connections.
Performing and showcasing in some of Melbourne's iconic and public places, this mostly free festival will
feature artists from across Australia, China, Japan, India, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Come and join these contemporary independent artists from across the Asian region, from Thursday 30 November to Sunday 17 December, as they build connections and establish collaborative ongoing relationships while presenting challenging work.
Mapping Melbourne seeks to create new perspectives, possibilities and expressions through these challenging artistic works.
Check out what the festival got up to last year.
For a taste of what to expect around Melbourne this festival,
Mapping Melbourne will launch at the
MPavilion on
Thursday 30 November, 6pm - 9pm. It will feature live performances, installations and interactions by
Yumi Umiumare, the Kaiju Hip Hop Jazz Project featuring Kojoe & Aaron Choulai, and
Haiku Hands
