Venture to the other side of the street
Visiting Maleny on a winter's weekend, the natural pull is to the coffee shops, gifts shops and live music on the higher side of Maple Street. But don't forget to cross the road and spend some time amongst the delights of the other side of the street.

Start at Imelda's on Maple, a wonderful boutique shoe shop offering beautiful affordable shoes and great service

Clothes boutiques and art galleries with unique finds flank Maleny in Bloom, with everything from cut flowers and arrangements to take-home trees. Spend some time just wandering through here for inspiration and the sheer pleasure of the blooms.

Behind the flowers you can wander through to Pallet Life and see the interesting things than can be done with "throw away" wood.

Keep going to the comparative darkness of welcoming independent bookstore, Rosetta's, where you can purchase a good coffee and sit yourself at a table surrounded with an interesting collection of books. Head through to the back where you will find deep leather armchairs where you can settle in Rosetta's self-professed comfortable country atmosphere and scan the books before you buy.

Saturday morning on the lower side of Maple Street. Well spent.
