Looking for something a little different as a gift?
Walking down the main street of Cooroy I spotted a new shop that's opened. Actually they have been in business for a year and have simply moved from Maple street to Emerald street.
The moment I walked in this gorgeous life like doll grabbed my attention. I almost wanted to pick her up and give her a cuddle. They (there's a little boy too) are priced at around $360. and make very popular presents for a special loved one.
Maple Lane is a family run business by sisters Rennae and Melanie. There is a third sister too who works quietly in the background making the dolls and their display furniture. It would take a lot of skill to create a doll with such an expressive face I would imagine.
There were also a few items I hadn't seen elsewhere like this amazing soap - truly a work of art in itself. There were other soaps too, shaped as a macaroon biscuit and tiny cup cakes complete with elaborate soapy icing. Very quaint.
And hey, a gift shops not a gift shop without a cute range of teddies eh? Choosing only 'one' is the difficult task.
They also had a small range of beautiful country quilts that you sometimes see in CWA stalls as well as women's shawls -perfect for winter. So if your looking for something a bit different - a gift to buy that special someone in your life and you happen to be in Cooroy, check this little shop out. Prices ranged from $4.50 to $365 for a doll.
