So many diners choose five star restaurants solely for the fine wine options, so it was only a matter of time before someone cut out the middle man and started placing fine dining inside the wine cellar.

At Restaurant Manx ( Manx, Hercules Street, Hamilton, Queensland&aq=0&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=36.982434,86.220703&ie=UTF8&hq=Restaurant Manx,&hnear=Hercules St, Hamilton Queensland 4007&ll=-27.437108,153.068261&spn=0.017025,0.0421&z=15&iwloc=A Portside Wharf, Hercules Street, Hamilton ), the cool surrounds of a well stocked wine cellar will be your dining venue. But this isn't some damp, underground bunker – the wine cellars at Restaurant Manx are spacious, well lit and decorated in a contemporary style.

Manx is open Monday to Friday from 10.00am until late, and on weekends from 7.00am. The all day dining menu has a Mediterranean influence, with antipasto selections, a choice of pasta and risotto and meats like rabbit and veal making an appearance. There's also a wide range of European and Australian cheeses, for those who prefer their dessert savoury and not sweet.

But enough about the food, what about the wine?! Naturally, the beverage menu is extensive. Wine is sold by the bottle or glass and ports, sherries and cognacs are also available. The options change regularly so to learn more about the current available wines, call the restaurant on 3216 4999.

The Restaurant Manx Wine Shop stocks a limited assortment of wines so if you find something you like, you may be able to take a bottle home with you.
