We decided to take a family vacation in winter. We chose Queensland and low and behold it rained.

Well, you can't control the weather, but you can take a firm vested interest in where you stay and, I can say with head held high, I did good on my choice!

So, it rained, the view was still breathtaking!

The Mantra Sierra Grand is located on Broadbeach. With six of us travelling, I wanted somewhere that would not only house us all comfortably, but that was within walking distance of restaurants and shuttle//transportation, after all, the kids were intent on doing as many theme parks as they could within the four days and yes, even in the rain.

Success was mine with The Sierra Grand. We had a beach view apartment, with three decent size bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, a dining and high tech, modern kitchen/laundry facilities. Pacific Fair was a five minute walk away, with the buses running at ten minute intervals, we were all set—sans sun, but hey, you can't have everything, the kids were happy, hubby was happy and I was relieved to have them so.

Modern and comfortable

The hotel boasts both an indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, tennis court, theatre room and restaurants on the ground floor—a holiday within a holiday—if you are wanting to stay in.

I couldn't get my kids out of the indoor pool (I drew the line at the outside pool in the rain!) at night, and did it not close at 9.30pm, I'm sure they would be in it until all hours.

I must admit, after a long day of walking and persevering with the lines waiting for the rides at the theme parks, I too enjoyed a relaxing time in the pool, sauna, spa and steam room.

The Hotel offers one, two and three bedroom balcony apartments and prices are subject to requirements and time of stay.

So, if you're thinking of Broadbeach for your next holiday, take a look at The Mantra Sierra Grand.
