A promising new beauty salon in Blacktown
Like most women, I like a bit of pampering once in a while, so whilst doing my shopping round at Westpoint Blacktown, I passed by the new beauty salon, Mantra Beauty and Skin Care, which had just opened two months ago and were advertising discounts to some of their services. The prices were so good that I couldn't resist, so I made a booking on a whim for the deluxe facial and eyebrow threading.
The premises are small but very clean. The décor is minimalist with lots of clean, white walls, benches and furniture. There is a small desk out front and a small sitting area with some magazines tidily sitting on the coffee table.
The first thing I had done was the eyebrow threading ($10). This is the first time I've had this done and I was amazed at the skill of the lady's hands. It was like she was playing the violin and I could hear the strings gliding over my eyebrows as if they were playing a melody. I had my eyes closed and I could picture Vishnu (Indian god with 8 hands) slicing and dicing at my excess hair – it really did feel like she had more than two hands, as she moved so quickly and precisely. In what seemed like no time, she was done and held up a mirror for me to see, and I loved the results! Why had I never had this done before?
Next was the deluxe facial ($40 on special). This was a full hour of cleansing, toning, moisturising with products specifically matched to your skin type. Included in the package was a full head, face, neck and shoulder massage that was pure bliss, followed by a special mask for the face tailored for your specific skin condition, and extraction of black heads and white heads. The lady left me alone afterwards to relax and let the mask work its wonders, and I almost fell asleep. When it was all over, my skin felt so plump and smooth, and looked so bright. The products they use in the salon include Bernard Cassiere Paris and Pevonia. They used Pevonia on me and it smelled so fresh. My beauty therapist said the product was all natural featuring ingredients from the earth and sea.
Other services they offer include eyebrow and eyelash tinting, teen facials, microdermabrasion, waxing (lip, eyebrows, arms, under-arms, chin, legs, bikini, Brazilian and men's waxing), henna tattoos, massage, manicure and pedicure, men's treatment facials and beauty packages. Prices start from $8 and the most expensive is $120. They are open every day.
Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.
