Sydney is a city made for amateur photographers. Find yourself a beautiful vantage point anywhere around the harbour and you can take some great photos of this famous city.
There are quite literally dozens of parks around Sydney that offer enviable city views, and they all make great spot for watching the New Year's Eve fireworks as well.
in the suburb of Greenwich is one such location.
Located right on the edge of the Parramatta River, this grassed waterfront reserve offers panoramic views across the water and to the city beyond. The beautiful location makes this a pretty popular spot, and you'll be unable to resist snapping off a photo or three if you pop in for a visit.
The views of the city make a nice backdrop for a picnic, and you can either spread out on a patch of grass or use the picnic benches and seats supplied. A short walking trail through the bush connects the upper and lower levels of the park, and it's of course up top that you get the best views.
This park is an Alcohol Free Zone on New Year's Eve, making it the perfect spot for families, and is also the base for the Greenwich Sailing Club. Visit at the right time and you'll be able to watch the boats tacking and gliding along in the gentle breeze.
There are no toilets available in the park, but you will find parking for around 30 cars. Access to the upper level of the park is from Prospect Street, while to get to the lower portion you enter off O'Connell Street. It's only a short walk from the park to the Greenwich Point Ferry Wharf and also to the
Greenwich Baths .
