is buzzing at weekends with its regular markets and city visitors enjoying the beautiful breeze and views over the Harbour and Moreton Bay.

[ADVERT]Visiting on a weekday is a chance to enjoy the serenity and sip a coffee at one of the many popular cafes and restaurants. I like to mix it up according to my mood, time of day and if I am enjoying some solitary space or the company of friends.

Cuttlefish Cafe is on the Esplanade and a great place to sit and have coffee and a snack on market day. The Jan Powers Farmers market which is on the third Saturday of each month bustles with fresh food from baker to butcher to farmer. The Sunday Creative markets have an eclectic range of stalls selling all manner of craft items. They are an ideal hunting ground for that unique gift or just something for you or the home.

The cafe is very amenable to serving my local Meet Up group and, despite covering several tables in a covered external area, always allow us to pay individually despite the 'one bill per table' rule. I haven't been for an evening meal but there is a good and affordable menu range.

The Fish Cafe is on the corner of The Esplanade and Cambridge Parade and offers a mix of dining experiences with lovely views overlooking Manly Harbour. Take away fish and chips can be enjoyed with a latte outside, or dine indoors for their lunch and menu selection. Moreton bay bug ravioli and whole baked squid appropriately feature.

On the corner opposite is Keith's on Cambridge , also with fine views overlooking the harbour. I enjoy a snack and coffee sitting outdoors perched on stools enjoying the fresh Moreton Bay breeze.

There's a multitude of dining choices as you go up Cambridge Parade with the Manly Cafe , Manly Hotel , Celtic Corner (great for Guinness) and the Manly Deck above with its balconied views.

A newcomer on the scene is Ebb & Flow that has morphed out and is part of the Julien Star Photography studio. It has an eclectic range of items for home and self, and provides a lovely coffee stop where owner Julieann will provide with a friendly chat.

Stop by for a look and possible purchase at The Manly Gallery which only displays and sells Queensland artists.

For information call (07) 3348 3524 or visit the Manly Visitor Information Centre in Cambridge Parade open from 9am weekdays and 10am at weekends. Check out the website for all contact details and events.
