Farm the Manly Markets
Years ago, I was a regular at the Manly Farmers Markets. In fact, our family had a regular stall selling Gerberas from our local farm. I have moved away and don't get to visit the markets regularly now. However, I had the opportunity to visit recently. As I expected, they are well organised with a wonderful range of stalls. So much fun to visit and spend my money!
There are so many new stalls now, though I did see a few familiar faces.
The Markets are a wonderful event in Manly – with places at the market and surrounds to have breakfast or morning tea, to discover what wonderful items are on sale.
Some stalls particularly interested me.
They Sell Sea Shells
Having written recently about the amazing collection of Shells at Yeppoon, I was delighted to find another collection. "We Sell Sea Shells" – with some very interesting homewares made from beautiful shells.
Another stall that I found extremely interesting, was the furniture made from unwanted pallets. Such wonderful imagination and good woodwork too.
Another was the great biscuit stall – "I Luv a Cookie." While I have some small issue with the name "cookie" I wonder if I Luv a Bikkie would work? What an array of biscuits! All delightfully packaged. They are all available from their website, and, I believe, that folk can purchase them wholesale and sell at your local markets.
Fresh fruit and vegetables and plants are always popular at Manly, but there are wonderful stalls with handicrafts, health products, great gift ideas and more.
The Markets are on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month on the waterfront at Manly – a great place to spend the day. Markets are open from 6 am to 12 noon.
