What better way to end your day than to have a few drinks and a great meal overlooking the harbour at Manly? The Manly Deck and Bar situated upstairs on the corner of Cambridge Parade and Stratton Terrace. This spot offers views of the Manly Harbour from its wrap-around verandas while you enjoy a generous meal from the bar menu.

Expecting usual pub fare of fish and chips or steak sandwich, we were pleasantly surprised by choice offerings of minted lamb rack and Tasmanian salmon. The meals were generous and tasty and served promptly. We learned that the place is popular on the weekends, opening early for a buffet breakfast, as well as serving lunch and dinner seven days a week. They have a great range of specials for every day of the week. One great deal worth taking note of is that kids eat for free for weekend lunches. For details of daily deals, check their website .

The bar also offers live entertainment. We were treated to the delightful voice and guitar playing of Matthew Turner Dauncey, who played a great mix of music from the 80's and 90's. Check here for a list of upcoming performers.

The restaurant also caters for functions, with a large deck out he back which can host functions for up to 70 people. There is a minimum of thirty people from Monday to Thursday and forty from Friday to Saturday. This is an ideal area for a birthday party or wedding reception and there are options from finger food through to two or three course meals. For enquiries you can call 33963824 or email [email protected].

We had an enjoyable evening, surrounded by a noisy crowd of regulars who were really enjoying themselves. It was good to see some families dining there as well when we first arrived and there is a special kids menu for the children to choose from. The main meals were priced from $20-$29, but there were also tapas platters and a gourmet burger menu if you are after something cheaper. Gluten free options were clearly marked and there were a wide variety of options for my coeliac husband to choose from.

If you are interested in a relaxing meal, or even a quick coffee and cake by the water, then the Manly Deck Bar and Restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
