A friend and I recently hired bikes from Manly Bike Tours to do a self guided tour. It's a fantastic way to experience Manly; you'll get to see all the hidden gems you'd never experience in a car and get great exercise.

The team at Manly Bike Tours were friendly and helpful, suggesting the best tour for our skill level and time limit. We ended up with the hybrid bikes which they said were perfect for the Sydney Harbour National Park tour that we chose to do. The Sydney Harbour National Park tour is an intermediate biking trail.

The bikes were in good condition, each bike comes with a map of Manly attached to it and my favourite, a bell with the Aussie flag on it. The bike rental includes the helmet, a bicycle handbag on the bar and a bike lock. Make sure a bike lock is included as the only downside of the tour was the staff forgot to put bike locks in our bags.

We got started on our way to the park, through neighbourhood streets with the map guiding the way. The roads were steep going uphill, so make sure you bring plenty of water to drink and energy to push yourself up those hills.

We soon came to the entrance of the park which was clearly marked.

Sydney Harbour National Park is stunningly beautiful, with breathtaking views of ancient cliffs, panoramic vistas and great bush walking.

The roads are paved so you have an easy bike ride through the park and not too much traffic from cars.

We walked on the Fairfax Walking Track which does not allow bikes so you must lock your bikes outside the trail. The trail is 0.7 milometers and takes 15-20 minutes to walk. It is a fairly easy trail with some steps.

The views and photo opportunities were excellent from all the vista points on the trail .

The tour in total took us about 3 hours to complete at a leisurely place. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventurous experience of biking through Manly and visiting Sydney Harbour National park , a local treasure which should not be missed.
