Easily pull up from a quiet country road and park under a tree - TICK.
No more than a 50m hike from the car under the tree to the markets - TICK.
Decent coffee located quickly and without a queue longer than the distance to the car - TICK.
The list could be longer than my arm or the length of my long not so lanky legs, but if you have one thing to do this weekend that is entirely for yourself and the addition of picking up the few extra special things you'd like to add to the barbie or special gathering (so yours stands out as THE place to be invited to), then make the trip out to the Mangrove Mountain Markets.
Centre of my table - crumbs will be all that is left.
Yes it is a few extra km's than that to your local Coles, Woolies or Fruit market, but it's NOT a hell of a train ride with your kids on the crowded cheap fare Sunday ride, instead one of "kids wind down your windows", put on your shades, tunes or not and a relaxed brow, because not too far along the F1 and a turnoff that comes quicker than the question of "are we there yet" are the Mangrove Mountain Markets. It is all in the quality and the trip is nothing when you compare it to whatever may be around your corner near home.
Fresh air, trees surrounding, a vibe of good spirits and retro goodness... you will be kicking yourself if you miss it.
Take a leaf out of the 50s and enjoy the goods of today.
Miss this one (on Sunday 25 January) and there will be another just around the corner of the calendar on the last Sunday of each month. It will be a scarce moment when you'll actually want to wish your time away, just to get there.
Mangrove Mountain Markets - that last Sunday of every single month
