A slice of glory at this fruity fundraising festival
Mangoes - aah - juicy, sweet and so versatile and the star in this festival with a difference. This annual fundraiser is back at Bondi Beach and the North Bondi Surf Club for more fun and memories so bring your cossies, hat and suntan lotion with you and enjoy breakfast or brunch on the beach with mangoes and a sausage sizzle.
Lots of fun to participate in at this glorious location celebrating the arrival of the mango season with mango growers coming together from around the country providing sampling of different varieties of this nutritional fruit along with giveaways.
The North Bondi nippers will compete in challenges with the public that include mango eating competitions and mango relay races. So bring your appetite with you and get set to get messy. Fun and laughs are a sure thing.
This surf life saving club has so far raised over $25,000 in the last 2 years and all for a worthy cause. You never know when you might need help from this wonderful organisation dedicated to helping those in trouble in the water and on the sand. So buy some mangoes or donate and do your bit to further enhance the work of these heroes.
Also on the day a social media promotion team will be roaming around taking polaroids of the public and their experiences. You get to keep your photo as a memento and you can win a free mango if you post the photo on their Facebook site or on Instagram with #LovinSummer #LovinMangoes.
Now for some wonderful mango-licious pictures to whet your appetite and show the versatility of this tropical fruit that is rich in Vitamins A & C, high in energy, low in fat and a great source of calcium.

Mangoes also great for smoothies, moktails and iced tea
Mangoes are also great to use in muffins, yoghurt and icecream sundaes or sorbets, as toppings on cakes and pancakes, on cereal, in parfaits, slushies, and marinades (due to their tenderness). For recipes and more information on mangoes, visit the Aussie Mangoes site (link above).
