Melbourne has so much to offer. I love experiencing new places and events and sharing them with you. I have an interest in gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets so I will let you know if you these can be catered for in my reviews.

I make a mean curry, authentic and tasty. But sometimes, I admit, I cheat (sorry mum).

Exotic Mango curry

Since I discovered Ameet's Homestyle range, I have enjoyed great Indian style curry without all the fuss. It's so easy, made with fresh local ingredients and just so good. No-one need ever know you didn't make it from scratch.

The magic ingredient

I am hooked (another admission) on the mango exotic. On the jar it has the recipe for making a chicken curry, but I make my own variation; tofu and vegies. I marinate the tofu first for a couple of hours before searing it in a hot pan with a little oil.

I add whatever vegies I have at home, and about half a jar of water to the pan and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.

Fresh veggies

That's pretty much it! How easy is that? Usually I make some rice and roti to go with it. I serve it with fresh natural yoghurt or vegan sour cream.

Simmering curry

What I love is the absence of numbers in the ingredient listing. Real food, gluten free, without preservatives, and good quality fresh ingredients. You can taste it.

Ameet's Homestyle sell mostly at the regional markets, such as Williamstown, Bundoora, Inverlock and Whitehorse. The full schedule is here. I get mine from A Bongiovanni and Son grocery store. It is just too easy.
