Recently while looking for somewhere to take my mum out for her birthday, I came across this restaurant in a Google search. I love discovering different locations to enjoy a meal and this place sounded like it had to be discovered. Mandy's on the Mountain I learnt is located within the Clear Mountain Lodge at Clear Mountain which isn't too far away. A leisurely drive of about 35 minutes from Redcliffe into the "country" found us at Clear Mountain.
The panoramic views from the deck here sweeps from the Glasshouse Mountains in the north, out to the seas off Moreton Bay and down towards the skyscrapers of Brisbane City in the south. Clear Mountain also overlooks the Noth Pine Dam and The tranquil waters of Lake Samonsvale. Such a lovely way to relax and the day we dined here at Mandy's on the Mountain we were blessed with blue sunny skies and a clear view.
The views to the city from Mandy's on the Mountain
The restaurant offers both indoor dining and dining out on their deck. Seating on the deck is limited so they suggest to phone ahead to reserve if you would particularly like to be on deck. On a nice sunny day, this is where I would prefer to dine.
The lunch menu was quite extensive and we had a hard time choosing, as most of the menu items sounded delicious. Mum and Dad chose the Crispy skin Goldband Snapper ($28),while I had the Crispy Salted Pork and Cuttlefish Salad ($18) and my son opted for the Moroccan Lamb Burger ($19). We were all very happy with our choices. The meals were fresh, extremely tasty and well presented. We were very certain that a lot of the herbs and greens that accompanied the meals were sourced from their well establish herb garden that we saw near the car park.
Sitting back with a glass of wine, good company and good food, overlooking the beautiful countryside here at Mandy's on the Mountain was a lovely way to celebrate my Mum's 65th and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Mandy's on the Mountain is also open for breakfast and dinner. They offer a full buffet breakfast and have a bar and bar menu for those in between snacks or meals. The Clear Mountain Lodge offered accommodation for that quiet weekend getaway or mid week escape with the facilities of a spa resort. You can also relax and unwind at Stephanie's Mountain Spa. Maybe another trip into the mountains is on the cards ...
