Keith Holmes Reserve is right in the heart of the Mandurah Marina Dolphin Quay Development, in walking distance from the Dolphin Quay Markets, shops and cafes and also more upmarket venues such as M on the Point and the Oyster Bar. The best thing about this spot is the little man-made beach which is perfect for kids to have a paddle in.

The reserve also has great facilities including a BBQ, amenities, two playgrounds (both of which are sheltered) and ample parking. There is also a big boat for kids to play on and the reserve is also the point at which you can walk the footbridge to the Marina.

The walk across the footbridge does not take long, but I recommend you take your time, as the views across the water and the Dolphin Quay Marina are really stunning.

So what do you do once you get to the Marina? The question is what isn't there to do! Depending on your tastes I have included a couple of options - one being kid friendly and the other for those enjoying adult company!

The Dolphin Quay Markets have a lot to offer, definitely worth a look. The Homewares Shop and the Croc Shop are standouts (the Crocs shop has a really comprehensive range), but there is also sunglasses, hats, clothing, beautiful crystal hangings and much, much more.

Now where to eat? I would recommend Cafe Moka for both adults and kids. It provides a large inside space, as well as an area on the boardwalk and also frontage onto the water. A great spot to enjoy a really good coffee (they always have excellent baristas at Moka) and a bite to eat - I can recommend their breakfasts - big serves and delicious! The cafe also has a kid's menu and their new liquor licence means you can enjoy a drink with a meal.

Right next door to Cafe Moka is the Fusion Fine Art Gallery which houses and sells some amazing art work by West Australian artists. It's a small space but the art is rotated regularly. So after your coffee pop in and take a look, the art is always inspiring and the gallery always has smaller items for sale.

If that doesn't wear you out, there are some great shops along the boardwalk or if you are feeling like a walk back over the footbridge there is the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre which regularly has art exhibitions and fantastic shows. Simmo's ice-cream is just a small stroll from the Performing Arts Centre.

If you are coming for the day, don't forget to watch the sunset - it's pure magic from the Marina. Enjoy!
