'Mandolins in May' - Presented by Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra

The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra (MMO) is proudly presenting their next concert extravaganza on Sunday 22nd May 2016.

Held at St George's Centre at the family-friendly time of 2.30pm, this special live music event will feature exciting works by mandolin virtuoso and composer Stephen Lalor, as well as internationally revered composers Astor Piazzolla, Konrad Wölki and Raffaele Calace.

During the afternoon, audiences will be treated to the splendid original Brisbane Suite by Stephen Lalor. Stephen studied domra in Kiev, and so his works show subtle influences of both East and West.

Oriental Impressions are given by famous Italian mandolin virtuoso Raphael Calace, while from Argentina come works by famous tango composer Astor Piazzolla - Ave Maria, Oblivion and Libertango.

It's sure to be a fabulous afternoon of live music. Come along with the whole family and enjoy the eclectic live music program and support homegrown talent.
