Delicious, Naughty, Decadent, You Won't Believe What Goes On
If the thought of a decadent high tea filled with handmade chocolates sounds like heaven to you, let's turn it up a notch and also add a beautiful Parisian style tea parlour filled with French champagne, a selection of exquisite teas, coffees and even drinking chocolate made with pure Belgium chocolate.

This is exactly what you will find at Mamor chocolates high tea.

Mamor chocolates have been delighting Melbourne with exquisite chocolates and special events for many years now. They have recently had a change of owners and the new owners are dedicated to studying with the best chefs from around the world and bringing these delicacies to share with you.

They are offering a very special afternoon tea and you can choose from the full experience or a light afternoon tea.

If you choose the full experience, for $65 per person ($75 on weekends), you will begin with the selection of savoury delicacies.

Whilst these change on a rotating basis, when we visited we were treated with delicate little parmesan biscuits with a sweet chilli topping. Followed by home made sausage rolls with light flaky pastry and delicious home-made chutney. To accompany this, a selection of finger sandwiches, including streets such as chicken and pumpkin or egg and lettuce - however, they had a few special herbs and touches to make them into something even more special.

Once your savoury palate has been satiated, you can move on to the real reason you came - the sweet afternoon tea.

Armed with a glass of French champagne (which was truly special), you'll be treated with a selection of delicate sweet treats. These may include home-made chocolates with fresh ganache and fillings. The ones we tried in the picture below, included a lovely sour cherry mousse, covered with a red mirror glaze. It was delicate and not too heavy on the palate allowing you to have a little bit of everything.

The Opera cake was creamy and yet still had a lovely crunch in the pastry and of course, homemade scones are made with lemonade to be light and fluffy along with a lovely selection of jams and creams.

To accompany the sweet selection you'll be offered a lovely range of teas or coffees or if you prefer, you can add hot chocolate to this made with pure Belgium chocolate.

It is not only the food that you would come here for, the ambience is absolutely gorgeous and we were lucky enough to be seated in the pretty window. Feeling more like we were in a tiny French provincial town - the people walking by in the streets looked up and smiled - as it looked like we were having something very special they were intrigued by.

Take home treats to continue your indulgence. *Image Lesley Mitchell

Mamor chocolates can also host special celebrations like birthdays or private events, but I did give you a teaser in the subtitle, alluding to something a little naughty. Mamor also host life drawing classes, tea leaf readings and some secret events.
