An annual speciality, the owners and gracious hosts of Mamor Chocolates & High Tea, Drs Hanna and Howard Frederick, hold a romantic Taste Love Valentine's Day Dinner for couples on February 14th. For $80 per person, each couple is greeted at the door by Dr Hanna, then seated on a plush Baroque lounge or intimate table for two, and welcomed with a glass of French champagne before commencing the five course Taste Love menu. All items are freshly hand made on site by Dr Hanna herself; the menu begins with a Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, sweet in taste for sweet beginnings with your Valentine. Next, Tomato Aspic with Fromage Frias shaped in a romantic love heart surprises with a savoury bite.
Matched wine arrives with two mains; first, Filet Mignon with a special Mamor Chocolate Chilli Sauce, accompanied by a refreshing Mango and Romaine Lettuce Salad, and a Mixed Spice Rice - flavours to add a hint of spicy romance to your night. Second, Mushroom Goulash atop a bed of Spetzel Dumplings for a feeling of comforting home-cooked goodness. It seems the Drs were casting a spell on the couples with a well thought out menu evoking senses of romance, sensuality, and love.
The Taste Love experience ends with a plate of decadent desserts including a scrumptious Apricot Rakoczi Cheesecake, Hazelnut Praline Bavaroise drizzled with chocolate sauce, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, home made Vanilla Ice-cream with Raspberry Coulis, and a selection of Mamor's famous Chocolate Truffles. All dietary needs can be catered for, just inform Dr Hanna at least 48 hours prior to your reserved night.
While you will have to wait until next year to enjoy the Taste Love experience, the home-cooked authentic Hungarian cuisine can be enjoyed year round by booking a dinner reservation for groups of eight or more.
