After discovering is walking distance from my house, I decide it's time for a visit. One of my friends, a bit of a pizza connoisseur, is more than happy to join me.

The restaurant has a small inside seating space as well as a much larger outdoor seating area.

I personally love the outdoor setting. You can literally eat dinner out under the stars, enjoying the cool night breeze. The music
playing on the video screen in the background adds to the atmosphere. If the weather turns bad, there is also an undercover outdoor area.

The fact that this pizza bar is in a quiet residential street simply adds to its charm. Watching possums scurry along power lines and a distinctive red Australia Post mailbox steps from the restaurant give it a homely, you could be sitting in your own backyard feel.

We order a supreme pizza from the classic pizza list and settle back to enjoy our red wine (which the lovely owner Rosina has been generous to waive the corkage fee on). The restaurant is BYO.

The pizza comes out on a thick wooden plater, which is a nice touch. The base is the right thickness and not too doughy.

Bases can be ordered both gluten and dairy free. The toppings have great flavour and texture. The pepperoni (which I often find
quite oily or burnt on other pizzas) is perfectly cooked. The cheese is good quality and just the right amount. Fresh ingredients are clearly a top priority at this restaurant.

Vegetarians will feel at home here as well, with options to choice from across the starters, classic and gourmet menus.

The great thing about these pizzas is you won't walk away feeling like you ate something heavy and need to sit on the sofa for a spell to let it all digest. You will walk away from Mama Ferrari's feeling full, satisfied and planning which pizza you'll enjoy on your next visit.

Speaking of which, next time I will definitely be ordering off the gourmet list. I have my heart set on the Pesto Pollo or the Koh Panang. I can't decide which one, I may have to order both.

If you would prefer something other than pizza, there is a choice of pasta, salads and gelato. Specials change regularly, so check
what delicious options are on offer at the time.

The restaurant offers takeaway, dine in and delivery.

My pizza connoisseur friend is impressed. As for me, Mama Ferrari's has taken this girl from someone who likes pizza to someone who loves it.
