A new and exciting festival, the Maleny Eco Creative Festival, is about to hit our hinterland shores at the end of March. Imagine … three days of celebrating waste to art, functional items plus extraordinary ideas. Combining eco creations, creative lovers will be spoiled for choice with speciality vintage that is still desirable, collectible and incredibly fun.

Whilst Cooroy Handmade & Artisan Festival and Maleny Handmade & Artisan Markets will still be focused on 'handmade' rather than eco, the Maleny Eco Creative Festival will be all about creatives who work sustainably, naturally, recycling, remaking, growing and any other practice that has an 'ECO' theme.

For the very first Maleny Eco Creative Festival, the organisers are on the lookout for extraordinary creatives who would love to be stallholders or exhibitors. Creatives who are makers, artists, designers, cooks or growers, who incorporate a sustainable or 'eco' approach to their art, craft or business. This may include art and Artisan products from waste or found items; food items grown from sustainable practices; art from recycled products; items that can be recycled when no longer in use; and creative repurposing.

Perhaps only a part of your arts practice is 'eco', the Maleny Eco Creative Festival is happy to provide the encouragement for you to continue working on the transition, by offering you the opportunity to show the work of your new direction.

The organisers are keen to recognise your eco-artistic talents and will be launching Stallholder/Exhibitor prizes (to be announced prior to the event). Prizes will be awarded to recognise artistic talent based on the 'eco' ethos. Stallholders who apply for the full weekend will be eligible for prizes, as the awards will be decided and announced on the Friday evening from 3.00pm, at the official
Sip & Shop launch.
