Treat your senses to this exquisitely gorgeous and insanely beautiful landscape at Maleny Bontanic Gardens Open Day on Saturday 16 November.
Bordering the stunning rainforest, the Maleny Botanic Gardens offer outstanding views of the Glass House Mountains covering over eight acres. Witness Sunshine Coast's most stunning locations, wander through the sculptured gardens, admire the amazing water features, ponds and stretches of lawn, and stroll on the 4 kilometres of walking paths surrounded by various plants such as roses, azaleas and cycads. There are also heaps of seating around the place so take advantage of them. And don't forget your camera!
You can be sure to see lots of insects, birds and wildlife. Witness wood ducks, green wing ducks and swamp hens bathing in the ponds; hear wompoo pigeons coo, kookaburras laugh and lorikeets chatter; and spot the native birds, bush turkeys scampering about and the cormorants resting on a rock. What's more, you may be lucky enough to see carpet pythons, green and brown tree snakes, and red belly black snakes.
So what's so special about open day that you can't get any other day? First of all, you'll be part of a worthy cause, Heart Reach Australia, in helping to raise funds for medical aid programs. What's more, there will be a live broadcast from the team at 104.9 Sunshine FM on site throughout the day to keep you entertained. In addition, splendid musical entertainment, face painting and plenty of kids activities will also be available, which promises to give you enjoyment and keep the kids amused.
Tickets are just $11 for adults, $8 for pensioners, and kids under 16 are free. There are lots of parking as well as yummy morning and afternoon teas, coffee and picnic lunches available for you to feast on.
