To the people of Melbourne, join along for the fun and celebrate Malaysia Day at the Malaysian Street Festival, held at Queen Victoria Market on Sunday 16th October from 9am to 4pm.

Malaysia Day is an annual public holiday in Malaysia that marks the establishment of the Malaysian federation on 16th September 1963. The festival aims to embraces Malaysia's colonial history, incorporating the influences of its former colonial masters, Britain, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.

Care for some Nasi Lemak?

Vision Malaysia working alongside with Alive Group offers visitors the ultimate Malaysian experience and an insight on the richness of Malaysian culture. Twelve restaurant stalls are organised to offer visitors not only a taste of Malaysia, but also foods from neighbouring Asian countries such as Indonesian, Singapore, Thailand and Japan.

In addition to the irresistible dining options, there will also be interactive activities that aim to showcase the ethnic Peranakan culture. Other activities include face painting for children, henna art and cooking demonstrations that will teach you a few secret Malaysian cooking tricks.
