Malaika's Tribute to Mother Earth (Organic & Vegan Buffet), Sanur

Once a month, in honour of Mother Nature, Malaika's Secret Moksha Restaurant opens its doors to a pay as you feel buffet. Located in the south of Sanur, with parking out front for mopeds but round the corner for a few cars, the concept is simple. Eat as much as you want and pay as much as you wish.

The money donated will be given back to the farmers who provide the produce. It's a beautiful idea. A way of saying thanks for all the work they put into harvesting the organic ingredients.



From the other side, it's a great way to meet and socialise with people in a relaxed environment. There's an inside area with AC, or an upstairs area that's naturally cooled by the breeze. But to be honest most people just sit on the big steps and take the day as it comes.



And when it comes to the food - it is amazing. One of those places where people keep asking if the food is really vegan! There's normally a fresh salad area, a few types of rice and then 3 or 4 different curry, dahl or local options.

If you fancy ordering off the menu you can still do that of course. I have to say I always treat myself to a slice of their vegan cake, which somehow also manages to be sugar, dairy and gluten-free but super delicious.
