I love searching for new ideas for presents at Christmas; the ones that no one else has purchased and the one-off designs that will be yours alone.



Over the weekend of 11 and 12 December 2021, Hypmotive has teamed up with Maker's Markets to give you two full days of the best local artisans and makers from around Marrickville and beyond to showcase their products. Even if you think you have done all your Christmas shopping, be assured there will be another little something from the range of home and interior products, fashion, jewellery, lifestyle products, art and more to tempt and purchase for yourself or others.

Some of the Makers lined up for stalls this year are –

Amy Blue Illustration produces a vast range of queer and kooky illustrated works includes zines, stickers, lapel pins and art prints.& #8239 ;



Helen Nehill& #8239 ; mines the depths of the subconscious to create detailed and intricate psychedelic dreamscapes with fine-liner pen. Her pieces are exquisitely unique with no initial plan but creating underwater menageries, interstellar space and strange beasts.



Maine and Mara edgy and unique accessories are designed for the bold and the brave. Handcrafted in Sydney, each colourful and contemporary piece tells a story with the intention to give its wearer individuality and strength.



Outer Island& #8239 ; was founded by Amy Ranck and Stephanie Chambers. They bring awareness to others by creating souvenirs that focus on native plants, animals and habitats with all products being 100% Australia made.



Pitok & #8239 ;is a visual artist creating personal painted works using gouache. He receives his inspiration from the traditions of Australian modernist painters such as Margaret Preston and Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints. His works are an exploration of self-identity, memory, the natural world and pop culture.



Maraca , which consists of two friends, Mauricio and Jorge, an industrial designer and artists who create wearables often described as arty, original, and super fun. Materials are sourced from resources and eco-suppliers as well as including found objects, vintage jewellery, recycled silver, acrylic off-cuts and bio-resin.



My Lovely Pets Design& #8239 ; are 100% made in Australia and are all made from their own design and images.



These are items you will not find in shops; they are genuinely and uniquely made from the heart and mind of incredibly artistic people who look internally and beyond the everyday design and manufacture.

The location for the Maker's Market is the Ground Floor, New Centre of Marrickville Metro with opening times of 9.00am to 5.30pm on Saturday and 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday. Why not grab your girlfriends and have a happy day together?
