I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Find The New You
Many of us approach the new year with a list of resolutions that generally don't last past February. In 2017 try something different, throw out the resolutions and embrace change. At the risk of sounding like a self help guru, you are the master of your own destiny and change begins with you.
Sit yourself down and decide what you would like to change or experience. It does not need to be monumental but it should be something that will bring a smile to your face and add some positivity to your life. Write yourself a 'bucket list' then work on what you need to do to achieve these goals.
The important thing to remember is that if something is not working for you stop. You don't have to stick at it but you will find that once you try something new, more change will be less daunting. Stop making excuses and start saying yes to invitations. The housework will be there tomorrow but the chance to spend some fun times with friends and family may not be. Start saying no to doing things you don't want to. Put on a silly hat and dance for joy, listen to a different radio station, taste something new, plan a holiday to an unfamiliar place.
Do you want to lose some weight or get healthy? Challenge yourself and your friends to sign up for a charity event. This may motivate your training and you will feel good. Do you want to learn a new skill? What makes you happy? Whether it is dancing, music, craft, writing, cooking or sport there will be a class, course or team nearby for you to try.
