Just $5 per person for a family of five
Adelaide's last drive-in cinema has reopened once again after its cafeteria was destroyed by a deliberate fire in March.
Mainline Drive-In Cinema
The Mainline Drive-In Cinema in Gepps Cross is operated by local company Wallis Cinemas. It consists of a large outdoor movie screen and a large car parking area. Patrons watch the movie from the comfort of their own cars.
Latest release movies are being shown pretty much almost every night, usually with one or two movies per night in summer and two or three movies per night in winter. Show times are dependent on sunset so check their website for details.
I have been to the drive-in cinema quite a number of times and enjoyed watching the kids movies. It is very affordable for a family of five with only $25 per car per movie. That equates to just $5 per person. It is a great idea for a family night out all year round but especially during the school holidays.
