Maifest , the German celebration of spring, is less known in the states compared to Oktoberfest, but filled with just as much celebration and your favorite German food and beer.

kicks off on May 21, 2011. A German American festival band and a professional dance troupe will perform and there will be plenty of food including two types of bratwurst, hamburgers, Bavarian pretzels, pommes frites and four different types of German beer on draft. There will also be a crowning of Miss German America.

runs from 12:00pm to 4:30pm with an option of taking a cruise up the Hudson River from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Beer Garden admission is $15.00 in advance or $20.00 on the day of the event – children 12 and under are free. Admission to the Beer Garden and the one hour beer cruise costs $20.00 in advance and $25.00 on the day – prices do not include taxes and fees. A children's cruise ticket is $5.00 – children must be accompanied by an adult. The prices do not include taxes and fees.
